Heike Boam & Bears Heike Boam began making and selling miniature bears when she lived in Atlanta, in 1997. In 1998 she and her British husband returned to her native Germany after having lived 5 years in Switzerland and almost 6 years in the USA. Heike Boam is actively involved with organizing fundraiser auctions of artist bears for "Libearty", the bear campaign run by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). From her new home in the Black Forest in Germany she now visits bear shows in Europe. Several of her miniature bears are on permanent display in the famous "Puppenhaus Museum" in Basel, Switzerland and also in the new Teddy Bear Museum on Cheju Island in South Korea. She also writes articles for the British bear magazine "Teddy Bear Scene" . |
